About Me (hello!)

I’m a researcher, educator, and proud New Englander whose work focuses on global security, planetary governance, and the politics of world-making in times of crisis. I’m currently an adjunct professor at Fullerton College and a Ph.D. candidate at UC Irvine, where I study how communities and institutions respond to paradigm-rupturing threats with a primary focus on the "twin threats"of nuclear risk and ecological destruction. I expect to defend my dissertation in the spring or summer of 2027.

Outside my academic work, I stay grounded through my lifelong love of horses, which continues to shape how I think about patience, responsibility, and care. I also share my life (and most writing sessions) with a miniature dachshund, Mr. Pickles, who is (rightfully) convinced he’s an indispensable member of my research team.

I’m currently exploring both academic and alt-ac or industry career paths. I bring extensive experience in grant writing, having secured significant external funding for my own work and supported others through competitive fellowship and research proposals. Teaching is also one of my core strengths. I design highly interactive, simulation-based courses that help students connect abstract political concepts to real-world challenges. Whether I end up in a university setting, a policy institute, or an applied research environment, I’m excited by opportunities that allow me to translate complex ideas into meaningful insights and to support others in developing their own analytical capacities.
